Challenge

A leading UK baked goods manufacturer with a range of over 220 products and turnover of ~£55M/annum looking to rationalise and reduce cost of speciality ingredients over a range of own-label, branded and foodservice products whilst maintaining the highest quality standards and meeting the needs of increasingly demanding consumers.

Approach

The Indigo Process Ltd. were appointed as the company of choice to plan, manage and deliver the cost release project within 14 weeks. Working side by side with the development and production teams, the indigo process identified £967K+ full year savings over 70+ recipes.

A collaborative approach between Indigo and the manufacturer used to agree the level of rationalisation and implement the changes ensuring all key milestones met.

  • £967K full year cost reduction, including £98K in year.
  • Ingredient rationalisation.
  • Reduction in fat & cholesterol whilst keeping clean label.
  • Reduces level of staling over shelf life.
